BEREA, KENTUCKY April 27, 2004--The Berea Arts Council is pleased to announce that the College Square’s Spring Celebration, a free arts & crafts festival, will take place on Saturday, May 15 from 10 am til 6:00 pm on the Short Street Greenspace. The celebration will feature arts and crafts demonstrations, puppetry, dance performances, and music.
Demonstrations will include blacksmithing, pottery, wood carving, beeswax candle making, quilting, and weaving. There will be a farmer’s market featuring locally grown organic products, and a plant sale of annuals and perennials to benefit the Berea Arts Council.
At 7:00 pm, the Arts Council, in partnership with Union Church and the Berea College Black Cultural Center, is featuring “Celebrate!”, a gospel music concert featuring John Edmond and the Gospel Truth. The concert will take place on the grounds of Union Church, following dinner on the grounds from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.
